Chapter 2 - new and unimporoved

When Laura got in that evening, most of the girls were all huddled in the living area, looking more than a little pissed off. It was only when Laura heard the rhythmic banging sound of Marie’s bed in the room above, that she finally realised why.

“They’ve been at it all afternoon!” Ruby grumbled, pausing so that Laura could hear Marie’s loud sexual squeals sounding out from the room above, as well as a guy’s loud, deep moans. “That’s gross, right? It’s not normal to be that loud. Although, the new guy sounds he’s enjoying himself. I never knew what a pig Marie sounds like when she’s having sex! ”

“Are you sure she hasn’t just made up with Ben?” Laura asked, feeling in her bones that Marie wasn’t the type of girl to move on so fast after a break up.

A rumble of chuckles rippled through the girls. “It’s definitely not Ben!” Paula explained. “Demi saw him when they arrived earlier. Go on, Demi, tell her what he was like…” she suggested, ominously.

“He was huge!” Demi stated simply, holding out her hands to emphasise an incredible width. “I just caught sight of him as Marie led him up the stairs to her room. I’ve never, ever seen an ass that fat on a guy before!”

The girls seemed to share a look of disappointment amongst themselves. Marie was undeniably the alpha female of this house; but dating a fat guy was clearly not part of the rule book.

“So what if he’s a little overweight?” Laura replied, disapproving of how toxic the girls’ friendships could be sometimes. Half of the times they cheated on their boyfriends were because the other girls had encouraged them to chat up hot guys on their nights out together.

“He’s not a little overweight…” Demi shot back theatrically. “He was grotesque!”

Laura shook her head in disapproval; unsure about who she was more disappointed in: Marie, who had moved on so fast, or the girls fat-shaming her choice of man. She walked up the stairs, just as the lovers seemed to be reaching another climax; hooting and moaning with increasing volume. Laura paused on the stairs, feeling rude to even walk past the bedroom until they were done. This all felt so wrong. Loud, erotic sex, without a thought for everyone else who lived here? This wasn’t Marie’s style. She wasn’t that sort of girl!

The moaning came to an end. Laura resumed her quiet walk up the stairs, not wanting her footsteps to be heard. She moved slower than usual, taking her time to ensure the ancient, creaking floorboards couldn’t give her away as she tried to escape into her bedroom on the floor above. But in a sudden burst of energy, Marie’s door flew open and she emerged onto the corridor, dressed only in a hastily assumed old, baggy t-shirt of Ben’s. Her perfect legs were on full display and the material of the shirt clung to her body, showing off every beautiful shape.

Laura almost walked into her, seeing the sweat dripping down Marie’s neck and between those perfect breasts. Ordinarily, Laura quietly longed for moments like these, seeing Marie half naked and getting the chance to admire her beautiful physique. But, right now, it was the most awkward situation she could ever imagine.

Marie had jumped, seeing Laura there as she was setting out to the bathroom, but she smiled nonetheless. “Come meet my boyfriend!” she insisted, proudly opening her bedroom door to reveal the enormous guy, reading from his cell phone under the cover of her bed. “This is Mike,” she announced, with a voice dripping with a mixture of love and lust. “We met last night. Isn’t he the most gorgeous hunk you’ve ever seen?”

The flabby guy chuckled in delight, not seeming to mind that Marie had invited her housemate to see him like this. But as Laura gazed at him, she couldn’t help feeling confused. Even for a big guy, Mike was not in the least bit ‘gorgeous’ at all. In fact, there was hardly any quality about his looks that seemed to be even the slightest bit appealing. “Nice to meet you,” she said quietly, feeling more awkward to be stood there than she had ever been in her whole life.

“Marie, hurry up and go to the bathroom already!” Mike yelled at her. He was older than her by at least a decade, sounding more dad-like than sexy. “Then you can come back and….”

Laura didn’t hang around to hear how that sentence ended.
